The drive belt represents one of the most critical performance links in your Polaris vehicle—the link between the engine and high performance. The drive belt, also known as a CVT belt (continuously variable transmission belt), is a key component of ATV, UTV and SxS transmission systems. They are developed and tested on all our engines for all environments and conditions. Our belts are designed, engineered and tested by Polaris Engineers and field test crews to ensure they deliver a perfect fit, high performance and excellent durability. Nothing else comes close.

WHY REPLACE YOUR BELT?

An old or damaged belt may damage other components in the clutch box, and a worn belt will cause jerky drive-away, false misfire and accelerated wear of clutch bushings.

When to Replace Your Belt

If you find cracks, loose cords, or missing cogs, if drive-away and engagement has gotten “jerky”, or any “hour-glassing” where a section has worn narrower, it’s time for a new belt.

How to break in your belt

Inspect and clean debris from the clutch covers, ducting and engine compartment. Remove any rubber residue from sheaves by scuffing with a pad. Clean sheaves with evaporating degreasing solvent like rubbing alcohol, or brake cleaner. Finish by driving in low gear and avoid high RPMs for first 5 miles (8 km) MINIMUM of operation.

Why buy Polaris?

Polaris engineered parts are designed, engineered and tested to the exact specifications of your Polaris vehicle ensuring compatability and optimal performance.

Aftermarket Belts:

  • Run hotter, and oversized aftermarket cogs fail due to over-travel into drive clutch creating higher heat
  • Standard/cheap poly blends result in cord snaps
  • Weaker cord adhesion
  • Inferior length tolerance
  • Lower Flexability

Polaris Belts:

  • Strongest premium aramid fiber cord
  • Max strength proprietary cord adhesion
  • Manufactured to exacting tolerances
  • Maximum deformation resistances
  • Maximum flexibility

  • Designed & Tested by Polaris: With 20,000 miles of field testing and 18+ months of development, Polaris OEM Parts are proven to run cooler and at optimal RPMs to ensure maximum vehicle performance and ultimate durability.
  • Built For All Terrains: Polaris Off Road Vehicle Drive Belts are made to withstand all terrains your adventure might take you such as mud, dirt, trails, sand, rocks and more. Suggested replacement period is every 6 months, 50 hours or 1,000 miles.
  • Sturdy & Reliable: Polaris belts are made to last and hold up under the power of your Polaris Machine. Engineered to run at the optimal RPM and deliver unmatched performance for your off-road vehicle. Developed and tested for all environments & conditions.
  • Easy Installation: Install your new Polaris Drive Belt effortlessly in just three easy steps. Step 1: Use tools to align the clutches. Step 2: Remove the old drive belt. Step 3: Replace with a new drive belt. Field tested to ensure a perfect fit.
